New Clients
Please arrive to your first appointment 15 minutes early to fill out a brief MEDICAL HISTORY form and sign a massage consent. Knowing your history allows the therapist to determine if there are any reasons you should avoid massage or a particular technique. To save time, print it and fill out prior to your session
Please have a seat in waiting area and the therapist will come out to greet you.
New to Massage…..What to expect
Your therapist will review your history and ask you questions to gather information about your overall health and any specific areas of concern. This will help the therapist to determine the structure of the session, ensuring your expectations will be met. Please ask any questions you may have about the treatment. At this point the therapist will leave the room so you can disrobe and get comfortable on the table, face up or face down, as discussed. Undergarments can be worn or not, only the area being worked on will be exposed, and draping will be securely tucked to ensure modesty at all times. As you lay on the table, waiting for the therapist to return, take a few deep breaths and begin to relax. The therapist will knock before re-entering.
During the treatment it is important to keep in communication with the therapist about anything at all; change in pressure, temperature, music; if anything is uncomfortable at all, please do not hesitate to speak up. You must remember, this session is all about YOU and the way YOU feel! It is really important that YOU are comfortable with the treatment. The therapist may feel areas of tension but they don't know how sensitive that area is to you, so please let them know. As the therapist massages each area, try to completely let go, allow your limbs to be manipulated (if they are working on your arm, try not to hold it up for them.) When the session is finished, the therapist will leave the room for you to slowly get off the table and redress. When you are finished, the therapist will give you glass of water and take payment.
